INTERMEDIATE SEWING & BASIC ALTERATIONS Sewing course, 6-week, Thursdays, May 11 - Jun 15, 10 am-12 pm

from 30.00

In this exciting course, you will become comfortable making basic alterations to your own (or others’) clothing and learn advanced techniques of sewing and pattern making. The topics will cover performing fittings, taking seams apart, adjusting seams on shirts, jackets, dresses, pants, skirts, and other garments. Finally finish that pair of pants you’ve been meaning to shorten or that dress or shirt you’ve always wanted to take in!

Second part of the class will cover advanced patternmaking of pants, shirts, and detailed skirts or dresses. Fittings and adjustments will be performed during this portion of the class, which reinforces the alterations and tailoring knowledge covered in the first half of the course.

Prerequisites: BEGINNER course OR solid basic knowledge of sewing (know how to operate sewing machine and create simple projects)

Sewing machine ownership is not required, but highly recommended. If you have one, please try to bring it to class, so you can learn to work on it. ($30 fee per 6-wk course will be applied if you choose using school's sewing machines)
