Zoya Designs is a Boston's local fashion boutique dedicated to an outstanding client service and personal approach. We are warmly loved on YELP and have growing amount of loyal clientele. We perform most kinds of sewing projects, from alterations to custom design and sewing classes, and everything in between. We have a very busy bridal season during summer, and we work with a good amount of ballroom dancers and local folks who just need simple (or not so simple) stuff done.

First Hand - Stitcher

Description:

We are looking for an assistant to join our team. Job duties include performing fittings, managing appointment and workload schedules, performing alterations and other sewing projects, as well as help with daily operations and appearance of the store (i.e. window display, tidying up, etc). This is both administrative and skilled position, and job requirement is both excellent customer service skills and sewing skills. Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally with our clients.

This is a part-time or a full-time position, whichever is desired. The days a candidate must be available are: Friday evenings, some Saturday mornings, and at least one more evening (we close at 7 pm) Other times are flexible.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Strong understanding of a quality work and ability to perform it

Knowledge of both men and women's dressmaking and tailoring
Clear and professional communication skills
Experience working with sewing equipment
Pressing finished goods to make garments ready to wear for the customer at pick-up
Completing alterations on a timely basis to insure delivery to customer by promised date
MINIMUM TWO (2) YEARS EXPERIENCE IN SEWING AND/OR ALTERATIONS
Higher education in Fashion Design/Sewing is preferred but not required.
