ZOYA DESIGNS SEWING SCHOOL’S FAQ
WHAT IS COVERED IN A BEGINNER AND INTERMEDIATE SEWING COURSE?
In our Beginner session, we spend 3 classes on sewing machine, hand and machine sewing techniques, fabric, needle and thread knowledge, and remaining 2 classes on making a project from a drawing a concept to creating a pattern to constructing a project.
Intermediate session covers half the time clothing alterations an advanced pattern making with emphasis on necklines, armholes, and sleeves. We are in the process of setting up a new program, and we welcome your feedback in what we should include in the program!
DO I NEED TO BRING SUPPLIES TO THE CLASS?
For the first class of any 5-week courses, a student does not need to to bring any supplies, we’ve got anything you need! We encourage for you to bring your own sewing machine, as it is best to learn on your own equipment (otherwise you can rent a machine from our school). At the first class, we will let you know what you will need to bring for the remaining sessions, based on what we are studying.
WHAT IF I HAVE TO MISS A CLASS?
If you have to miss a class, we can explore several options to make up the missed session - catching up remotely, collaborating with the instructor to come in a little earlier, or coming in during a Drop-In Sewcial Thursday. Please note that make-up sessions are NOT GUARANTEED, and missed sessions are not refundable.
CRASH COURSE AND DROP-IN SEWCIAL HAVE MINIMUM OF 3 STUDENTS TO RUN A CLASS. WHAT HAPPENS IF NOT ENOUGH STUDENTS SIGNED UP?
If there would not be a sufficient amount of students to run a session, all enrolled students will be automatically transferred to the following month’s session.
WHAT IS THE REFUND POLICY?
If a session for which a student signed up is no longer convenient to attend, the student has an option of joining a different session, if there is availability, or forfeit the session altogether. We do not offer refunds for missed classes or entire sessions. If the group class is canceled for any reason, full refunds will be offered to all signed up students.
