In this session, we will explore creating of garments with various necklines, bodice styles and sleeves. We will use draping on form method to create our designs and to make patterns.
Fitting forms will be provided, but if you would like to bring your own, you are welcome to it. Additionally, you can rent one of our machines or bring your own. ($15 per 3-week course will be applied if you choose using school's sewing machines)

SYLLABUS

WEEK 1

Introduction of the class and instructor

Get to know your equipment (sewing machine, supplies), practice operating the sewing machine

WEEK 2

Hand sewing - practice stitching by hand and hand sewing supplies knowledge

Fabric knowledge and info what fabric works best which which project

WEEK 3

Introduction of detailing and accessories - installing zippers, attaching buttons, snaps and hooks & eyes.

WEEK 4

Measuring for a garment/project and introduction to basic pattern making (project week begins, let’s design and make stuff!

WEEK 5

Project week, continued

WEEK 6

Finishing the project, recap of the course, GRADUATION!
